Members Help Us Do Work That Matters!
MOAS receives less than 30% of its funding from Madison and Oglethorpe counties, which means that we depend on donations from generous supporters like you to cover the vast majority of our expenses. Our shelter takes in over 2,500 animals a year. Caring for that many animals, in a shelter that’s designed to hold about 100 at any given time, requires an annual operating budget of over $800,000. As you can imagine, it truly takes a village to raise the funds we need to continue our lifesaving efforts each year. Becoming a member - at whatever level is right for you - truly saves lives every day!
Want to make your donation go even farther? Adding an additional $5 to cover shipping costs for your thank you gift or choosing to pick it up at the shelter helps your donation make a larger impact. You can also choose not to receive a thank you gift if you’d prefer for your full donation to go directly to the shelter. Membership Levels & Benefits:
Shelter Supporter
$5 per month via Paypal or $60
Your donation pays for critical vaccines for two shelter animals each month and other essential care including food, supplies, treats, and toys!
Protector
$25 per month via Paypal or $300
Your donation pays for life-saving heartworm treatment for one of our shelter dogs in need, which also increases his/her likelihood of being adopted!
Rescuer
$10 per month via Paypal or $120
Your donation pays for spay/neuter surgeries for multiple cats and dogs throughout the year, helping to reduce pet overpopulation in our community.
Guardian
$500 - $999 donation
Your donation pays for essential, life-saving procedures like amputations, mass removal, and eye surgeries to treat sick and injured shelter animals.
Continuous Life Saver
$15 per month via Paypal or $180
Your donation pays for foster care for a litter of puppies or kittens and medical treatments for things like ringworm and upper respiratory infections.
Ultimate Animal Hero
$1000+ Donation
Your donation allows us to perform major and/or specialized surgeries that we could not otherwise afford, including bone and joint repairs.

Memberships FAQ
Shipping: We typically mail out our donor thank you gifts once a week on Thursdays. If you would like your items shipped, please include your mailing address in the comments when you donate. Forgot to include your address? Don’t worry about it! We will follow up by email if we do not receive your address so that we can get your items to you! If you’re able to pick up your items at the shelter, let us know as we can typically arrange for them to be available sooner at the shelter.
Additional Items: Many have asked whether they can get an extra tumbler or t-shirt when they become a member. When you join our membership program, you have the option to purchase one additional item of each type that’s available at your membership level. Email us at memberships@moaspets.com if you’d like to purchase an extra!
Sizes/Item Types: When you become a member and you’re eligible to receive one of our thank you gifts, please let us know what type you want (size for t-shirts and cat or dog for tumblers).
